On August 14th, Scaleout stepped into the spotlight at Osaka Expo 2025, presenting something far more than a project—it was a vision of shared humanity. At the Future Life Village, near the west gate of Yumeshima, the team introduced the Story of Songs We Make – Global Harmony Way, a co-creation challenge officially recognized in “Team Expo” by Expo 2025. This initiative carried with it the essence of what the Expo stands for: bridging nations, cultures, and individuals through the power of collaboration.

At the heart of this presentation was a moving musical project called Get Well, pioneered by Hiroshi (Oggy) Ogino. More than just a song, it is a vessel of empathy and a global experiment in harmony. The concept is simple yet profound – people from across continents and cultures, 43 so far, come together to craft a message of encouragement for those who need it most. The song reminds us that in times of hardship, uncertainty, or illness, there is always a community waiting with open arms, eager to welcome us back to life, to joy, to belonging.

The project’s origins trace back to the dark days of 2020, when the world faced an invisible enemy that forced us all into isolation. The pandemic was not just a health crisis; it was a crisis of spirit. Loneliness, fear, and despair spread as relentlessly as the virus itself. Yet, within this atmosphere of grief, Get Well was born as a melody of comfort. It became a call to remind people that they were not alone, that their value remained intact, and that their healing, no matter how long it took, would be met with warmth and togetherness.

Every verse of Get Well carries this intention. Its words and rhythms invite listeners to rest, breathe, and find strength again, assuring them that the world is patient enough to wait. It is both a lullaby and a rallying cry, softly saying, “You matter. Take your time. We’ll be here.” Woven with lines in Japanese, the song symbolizes not only a cultural blend but also the universality of care and kindness, transcending boundaries of language and geography.

What Scaleout brought to Expo 2025 was therefore more than performance; it was proof that music, when born out of shared struggle and crafted with collective spirit, becomes a healing force. It connects strangers across oceans, transforms hardship into harmony, and reminds us that even in the face of global uncertainty, humanity can create something beautiful together.

On stage, 5 African countries were represented alongside Oggy san – Mbali Mtshali (South African), Mugisha Respicious (Tanzania), Ghanney Annobil (Ghana), Nahor Omar Ngawara (Chad), Agnes Adebiyi, and Abdulmalick Adeyemo (Nigeria) – to echo the goal and impact of the project so far. At the end of the presentation, many people were interested in knowing more about other people’s culture and how easy they can integrate when they come to Africa, most especially.

And so, the Story of Songs We Make – Global Harmony Way is not just a project; it is a promise. A promise that even in our weakest moments, we are seen. A promise that when we fall, we will rise again to the rhythm of voices that care. And most importantly, a promise that through harmony, empathy, and creativity, the world can indeed Get Well.
